The House
The Philosophy of the House
Elaiodentron Eco House was designed as a contemporary countryside residence in a meaningful relationship with its place and the natural landscape. Its purpose is to offer a space of calm, privacy, and simple living, where the pace slows down and the experience reconnects with nature.
Sustainability and energy self-sufficiency are core design principles, without compromising everyday comfort. The house is for guests seeking a different kind of hospitality—one that values quality of stay and a genuine connection with the natural environment.
Architecture & Materials
The architecture of Elaiodentron Eco House draws inspiration from forms and principles found in the traditional Cretan countryside. Its solid structure, simple geometry, and low scale echo rural homes shaped by their relationship with the land and the surrounding landscape.
Stone is the dominant material—not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to help the building blend naturally into its environment. Materials were chosen for durability and harmony with the landscape, so the house feels like part of the olive grove rather than a foreign addition.
The design follows the terrain and the plot’s orientation, making use of natural light, shade, and ventilation. In this way, the architecture remains practical and discreet—never overpowering the setting, but quietly conversing with it.

Interior Spaces
The interior spaces of Elaiodentron Eco House are designed with simplicity and functionality, so your stay feels comfortable and truly restful. The layout is clean and practical, with emphasis on natural light and the constant connection to the landscape.
Materials and color tones are soft and natural, creating a calm atmosphere without unnecessary distractions. The spaces are made for easy living—nothing excessive, nothing that feels tiring.
The relationship with the outdoors remains continuous through openings towards the olive grove and the wider scenery, keeping the interior bright and open to nature.

Outdoor Areas & Landscape
Elaiodentron Eco House is set within a privately owned olive grove, in a quiet and lush environment. The outdoor areas were not designed as “scenery”, but as a natural extension of the house and the land that surrounds it.
The presence of olive trees, pines, and cedars shapes the character of the place and the rhythm of everyday life. The landscape remains the main feature—and the house simply accompanies it, leaving space for calm, observation, and connection with nature.
The view towards Ha Gorge and the open horizon around the house offers a sense of freedom without isolation. Although the setting is natural, access is easy, and the short distances to beaches, villages, and towns create a balanced stay—between nature and everyday convenience.
